Helllllooo Everybody!
How's the rain Midwest?? Heard we finally got some, didn't hear how much but some is better than none! I don't mean to brag but weather this summer in New York has been awesome, I don't think I have ever had weather like this before! Barely any humidity! (what's that like right???) It hasn't really gotten past the 90s and if it has its only been a few times. I hear a lot of people around here complain how hot it is, but they really don't know what hot is if they're complaining about this weather!!! It has been cloudy and rainy here the last few days but I don't mind it at all, it is kind of relaxing.
So Parents day went very well. Kids were all very excited and didn't want them to leave, lunch was done buffet style on the main lawn and families had picnics. I don't think I have seen as many Range Rovers, Bentley, Enclaves and Maserati in my life time, as I seen on visiting day! Can you say NICEEEEE CARS!!!!! Hoooollllyy Moooollly. You could definitely tell these parents had some money, that's for sure. haha sorry so blunt but it's true. I talked to a few parents as I drove them to the farm and they were very nice! It was my first time going to the farm and oh my gosh that place is amazing, so beautiful! The farm is located 5 miles from camp and it is about 9 acres. They have around 20 or less horses and the girls do all their riding out there. It is so green and just absolutely breath taking out there. (I'll post pictures as soon as I am able too)
I had my day off on Wednesday and we went to Saratoga Springs, which is about 45 mins away. We went to the horse races and that was a pretty sweet experience. It is one of the oldest tracks in the United States. I bet on a few races but I think I'll just stick to my day job, because I am horrible at betting and lost every race! Oh well it was a lot of fun and enjoyed my experience. They brought the horses through the park, so that we were able to be very close to them before they brought them out to the track. It was really sweet how they did that. The horse that was won the Belmont last year was racing, not sure how he did because we left. It was a pretty cheap day, we spent $3 to get in!!! You can bring in your own food, drinks and beer and have a little picnic if you wanted. After the races we went downtown Saratoga and walked around and went in a few different shops and went to the park. It has a very old historical look to all the buildings, very classy looking. The park was so beautiful and they also had a public carousel to ride for a dollar. Of course we did it!
Just so everyone knows I am finally crossing off my top bucket list item. I AM GOING TO A YANKKEES GAME AT YANKEES STADIUM AUG 1!!!! I can NOT wait! I am soooo excited! I am pretty sure the whole camp knows I am going! We will leave bright and early that morning possibly hit up times square real fast and then the 1pm game and then train ride back home! I've been waiting for this day for awhile now! It's happening! You can definitely count on seeing LOTS of pictures for that!
Welll evening activity is almost done so I better get off!
Love and miss everyone!
Andrea
