Happy 4th of July!!! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend!!! I usually spend my 4th at my aunts with all my family but this year I spent it at Lake George!!! It was my day off on Wednesday so I got to enjoy the whole day off! We hung out at the beach for a little bit went shopping got dinner and had drinks then watched fire works on the beach. It was really cool to see all the boats on the water watching the fireworks! I was a little disappointed the the show only lasted a little bit longer than 15mins. Thought it would have been a huge show but they're not abig into it as the Midwest is.
Camp has been pretty fun lately!!! Camp is split into teams of white and blue and compete every Sunday against each other in activities. The oldest group (peakers) decide who is on what team. The peakers let everyone know by having "Break Out" Break out can happen at anytime of the day and anywhere. This year the girls had an over night at the farm and decided to have break out at 7:15am the next morning arriving on a school bus and waking everyone up to Jackson 5's ABC 123 song. They did a dance and then divided the girls up. Sunday was competition day and the teams had a scavenger hunt. There was a list of over 100 items and they could of only be found in the cabins and would only be accepted if the item was visibly out. These items were no where near ordinary
The other night we had western night. They had an amazing meal and we ate out on the beach. They cooked BBQ ribs, chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob, salad, corn bread and it was sooooo good!!!! Girls dressed up in there Western wear and head down to the Rec Hall for some country dancing. It was a lot of fun but definitely tiring. Its great to feel like a a little kid again! :)
Phone calls home started the other day! The girls are only allowed three, 5min calls home the whole time at camp! The older girls get a few extra calls and call whoever they want. Sometimes after the little ones get off the phone they start crying, it breaks my heart to see them so sad. Most girls are loving camp and not home sick at all but there are a few girls that cry.
Mail has been absolutely horriblleeee!!!!! Because of the holiday we got all the mail today! We had easier over 400 letters!!!! To go through and mark bunks #'s and separating them by bunk and the same on packages it took from 2pm to after 5:30pm!!!!! Most of the time there was 3 of us working on it as well! Hopefully there won't be very much tomorrow!
I can't believe I've been at camp for a month now! Its been going by so fast!!! No I'm not homesick but of course I miss all my friends and family!!!
Ill write soon!
Love and miss everyone!
I'll post pictures soon!
Love
Andrea :)
