Urghh I just got done writing my whole blog but then it got deleted!!!!! Oh well that means this blog will be way better!!! :)
I hope everyone in Omaha is enjoying the CWS (College World Series) I am very jealous of everyone who is there right now! If anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE baseball and obviously the CWS but who in Omaha actually hates this time of the year??? Good thing the main house has cable and I can watch games! Stony Brook and UCLA are on right now!
Today was a very easy laid back day! I had to work from noon to 8pm. It was nice to sleeping in, especially after Libby's Boot Camp that I did yesterday! She is a personal trainer back in Australia so she kicked my butt pretty hard! I am sooo out of shape since I've stopped playing ball!
I have been doing a lot of driving to and from the Albany train station and airport. Sunday night I have a late pick up at the airport, won't be getting back to camp until 2am good thing I get to sleep in till 11am Monday. It's been nice being able to drive, it gives me a chance to see more of New York. They have NY apparel everywhere and I love it! I am going to end up buying so much apparel!
Things in the office have been going very smooth. Its been easier working with the phone system! Now all I need to get down is who to direct the calls too! lol There are so many questions regarding wedding, camp, and Jimbo's/Suzy Q's.
Most of the staff will arrive this weekend there is about 30 people coming and we have about 150 staff members. All 292 campers will be arriving on June 23! That's quite a lot of us staying here at Point O'Pines but they definitely have room in all the different cabins! They also don't do any advertisement everything is word of mouth. Most of the campers mothers have gone here when they were kids! One of the office ladies told us that the producer's from the show Entourage's daughter will be coming this year for the first time, also years ago famous designer of Ralph Lauren's daughter went here. So just by that information you can kind of tell what kind of camp this is.
To keep the girls from being materialistic and what not, they are required them to wear a uniform everyday. They are also given a magazine and have to order a certain amount of items anywhere from shorts, shoes, blankets, shirts etc! Some of the campers baggage has arrived. A returner was saying that the bags are so big that they could fit 4 staff members and manage to zip it up! and most girls will bring two bags! Once the campers arrive I heard that things around here just get nuts! I am just curious to see what it is going to be like on June 23rd when they arrive!
Have a good night everyone!
Don't forget to write ;)
Love & Miss ya!
Andrea :)
P.S, I still have yet to walk around and take pictures of everything so you guys can see what it looks like around here! I will do it soon I promise!

You learn something new everyday!
Everything around camp has been great the last couple of days! More girls are arriving each and everyday. We have so many girls all over from the the world. Girls from England, Scotland, Australia, Mexico, UK, and all over the United States. I may end up picking up an English accent being around all the girls lol! The only boys we have on camp is our cooks from Poland and the Tennis Players from Mexico. So I am learning a lot about other cultures, its very interesting! Like your underwear is called pants, pants are called trousers, your flashlight would be called a torch, hoodies are called jumpers.
Last night a few of us girls had some free time so we went into the next town closest to us called Chestertown and went to a local bar. There was a good amount of bikers there because they have some rally in Lake George for bikers. I tried the oldest bar ever made in America called Luengling, not really a fan but it wasn't too bad for a lager.
I got a little bit of time off today so it was nice and relaxing to go and layout by lake. There was a momma duck and her little babies around the area we were at and they were so cute!!! They were friendly little duckies. :) Later I went on a nice little run to the boys camp and back (3 miles) That was scenic and really pretty. I only ran into one little snake on the way back and jumped out of the way like a little girl. I really hope I don't run into a black snake in the water!!! I'm scared to death of those creatures!
Tomorrow I will have to go to the train station in Albany, on my own this time! Hopefully I can get one of the girls to ride with me! Albany is about 1hr 30mins from camp so its not that bad of a drive. Gives me a chance to see more of New York.
Well I better get to bed, breakfast is at 8:30!!!
Oh BTW, getting mail is like Christmas around here sooo if anyone would like to send me mail I won't be mad :)

Finally Here!!!
I finally made it to New York, well a couple days ago actually! They have been keeping very busy and the wii-fi is only located in one spot so I'm rarely on the Internet.
I survived my first plane trip and I loved it. :) I was like a 5 yr. kid in a candy store! Lucky me I got window seats in both plane rides and got to experience day and night time flying. It was so amazing to be so many feet in the air and looking down on everything and being higher than the clouds, never seen anything like that before!!! I also met lots of different people between my flights, and was doing a little networking (my teachers would be proud). I flew from Omaha into Chicago O'Hare, Oh my goodness that airport is nuts! There was people everywhere and so many different gate numbers!! I only got lost for a little bit, but that was okay because I had a two hour delay (wasn't that bad I spent most of my time looking for my gate).
Since I ended up getting into Brant Lake around 4am (3am Midwestern time) they let me sleep in until noon. I started working in the office a little later after lunch. So far it's just been a lot busy work and learning how everything is done in the office. Campers don't arrive until June 23, so a lot of what is going on now is getting the camp ready for them and making sure we know how the phone system works (so far I've hung up on 2 people oops!) It's not as easy as you think it is lol.
I would have to say that I am definitely not an office person, so I can't wait and very excited to start working on the website designing process. I most likely won't start doing that until camp starts. When that does I will also be doing a good amount of driving and what ever activities they have me helping me with. Tonight, I actually rode (with another first timer here) to the Albany Train Station to pick up one of the kitchen boys from Poland. Don't worry we only made a few wrong turns, but we made it back safe! and oh the way back I got to learn a little bit about like Polish culture compared to America, even a few curse words. hahaha :)The view along the way was absolutely amazing! There is GREEN everywhere and I CAN"T actually see for miles-- the beautiful mountains get in the way. But I'm not complaining!
The Camp is soo amazing I can't get over how beautiful and peaceful it is being out here. I could just sit by the lake and enjoy nature all around me. Nothing like Nebraska just simply amazing!

It;s almost time for lift off
Hello Everyone!!!
I am unbelievably so excited and blessed to be spending my summer in Brant Lake, New York.
I decided to start a blog mostly to keep my family and friends updated on my experience and be able to see pictures, because I know I will be busy for about 10 weeks and who knows how much I will be able to use the phone!
For those of you who don't know, I was given the opportunity to take a marketing internship at Point O' Pines Girls Camp.( Here is a website of the Camp http://www.pointopines.com/ ) I will be working in the office most of the time redesigning their website, making weekly trips to Wal*mart and Target, and whatever else they have me doing with the campers (I will find more out when I get there). Days start at 7:45am and we keep the campers busy until 9pm. For anyone who knows me, I am not a morning person and love my naps, so this will take some getting use to. :)
Right where the camp is located they have 5 Star restaurant (where I will get to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner from ), they also have weddings, and hold conferences. I will resign the website that will include all of these venues and activities, making it more user friendly etc.
My flight leaves June 4 out of Omaha, will stop in Chicago O'Hare Airport and will take me to Albany, NY and then a 3 hour drive north. I am very excited but since it's my first time flying I am a little nervous flying into Chicago-- Hope I don't get lost and miss my flight. Thank God I'm not flying into New York, New York. lol I still have yet to master how I am going to pack for 2 and half months into a carry on and suitcase. Wish me luck lol!
A week from Monday I'll be heading out so if your interesting on my summer stay tuned for more of my blogging in a few weeks.
P.S. Got a new camera so I will be posting a lot of pics on here and Facebook & Twitter!
Love,
Andrea
